Yerevan and Moscow architects discussed the issues related to cooperation

The Chief Architect of Yerevan Tigran Barseghyan who visited Moscow within the staff of the official delegation of the Municipality of Yerevan arrived in the RF capital with the aim of participation in the Days of Yerevan in Moscow, had a meeting with the Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov.

Greeting his Yerevan colleague Sergey Kuznetsov said that the friendly partner relationship between Yerevan and Moscow formed for years can bear more practical character in the future and stressed in this context his wish and willingness to start concrete joint projects.

The Chief Architect of Yerevan Tigran Barseghyan expressed gratitude for warm reception and stressing the fact of rich historical heritage between the two peoples attached importance to the possibilities of cooperation expansion and implementation of joint programs in the sphere of architecture and urban development between the two capitals. Speaking about the realization of concrete programs Tigran Barseghyan presented his Moscow colleague the urban development programs of Yerevan development, particularly, the investment programs and pointed out that the city authorities are ready to show support to possible investments within their powers.

The Chief architects of Yerevan and Moscow expressed bilateral confidence that the new programs of cooperation to be signed between the mayors will create new possibilities to realize various joint projects. To discuss the further cooperation more thoroughly the Chief Architect of Yerevan invited his Moscow colleague to visit Yerevan, and in respond to this Kuznetsov said that the visit to Yerevan will be important for him not only from the practical point of view as he is going to get acquainted with the historical and cultural monuments as well.

Within the frames of the meeting the parties also discussed the issues related to the project of erection of the monument to the USSR architect Karo Halabyan. With this aim the an open competition is to be announced.

Within the frames of the Days of Yerevan being held in Moscow the Chief Architect of Yerevan also participated in the event dedicated to the memory of the Arm SSR people’s sculpture and the RA People’s artist Ara Harutyunyan which was held in the Academy of Fine Arts of Russia.

During the event dedicated to Ara Harutyunyan, the author of Sardarapat memorial complex, statues of Mother Armenia, Sayat Nova and other well-known sculptures, materials telling about the artist, unknown episodes about his creative way were presented.

During the event they also referred to the issue of creation of the features of cities through sculptures and monuments and their preservation.
