Concrete Bionics at the Architectural Biennale in Venice!

03 June 2014

The Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development presents the exhibition "Moskva: Urban space" at the 2014 Architectural Biennale. A life-size fragment of this public space named "Augmented Atmosphere", designed by Diller Scofido + Renfro and Transsolar, is set in a historic Venice courtyard with the world premiere use of fibreC Bionics.

The new Zaryadye Park, designed by an international team led by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, will host vegetation and sensations representing the primary Russian landscapes - Tundra, Steppe, Forest and Wetland. Moments with seasonal temperature, humidity and climatic characteristics create an immersive human experience while blending into the landscape and providing a retreat for Muscovites.

The installation at the Biennale in Venice plays with the atmosphere of the new park, creating unique local experiences of temperature, humidity, sunlight and sound. For example the fibreC benches with Bionics technology from Rieder will all have different surface temperatures to intensify the experience of temperature.
