Tender likely to be announced for Pushkin Art Museum new development concept

22 October 2013

Chief Architect and First Deputy Head of the Committee for Architecture and Urban Development Sergey Kuznetsov announced that, following a recent meeting of the Architectural Council, a decision had been taken to proceed with plans to develop the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the adjacent area.

“At the moment we have plans to create new spaces for the museum. We have been debating how best to choose a new development concept. We are discussing the possibility of holding a new contest, but we have yet to come to the final decision,” he said.

“It would be better and make more sense to create a new development concept from scratch,” he added.

“The existing concept has been heavily criticised and so we need to draw up new plans,” he said.
