21 February 2019

22 projects located in Moscow take part in the tenth annual voting among the users of the ArchDaily international weblog. According to the Chief Architect of Moscow, Sergey Kuznetsov, among projects from Russia there are Luzhniki Stadium and the House on the Roof at the Artplay Design Center.

«In total, more than 40 Russian projects take part in the voting. They represent the most different places — from Saint-Petersburg to Kondopoga. But I am very pleased that many Moscow projects take part in the voting as well. One of the projects — the House on the Roof at the Artplay Design Center — is in the Best Applied Products category», Sergey Kuznetsov commented. «Even this number is a great result. It shows that Moscow and Russian architecture is getting better recognized abroad, it starts to win international competitions».

The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Letovo School, the headquarters of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Luzhniki Stadium, the Federation Tower are among the projects presented for the vote. The Nike Box MSK sports pavilion is listed in two categories at the same time: sports and commercial facilities. Users can also vote for the project of a skate park under the Garden Ring overpass near the Park Kultury metro station, for the round-shape kindergarten on Varshavskoye Highway, or for the Khokhlovskaya Square improvement and landscaping.

Applications for voting will be accepted until March 4, and weblog users will be able to make their choice until March 11. The next day, March 12, the results will be announced. This is the tenth time that the «Building of the Year» award is given by the ArchDaily international weblog. Over the past year, there appeared more than 40 thousand new posts and 4 thousand new projects from all around the world. Last year’s award was given to Zaryadye Park in Moscow.
