The shopping center of the Rasskazovka transport hub to be decorated with a map of Moscow
The multi-functional shopping center of the Rasskazovka transport hub will be decorated with perforated metal cladding outlining a map of Moscow. Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov said that facade decoration is nearing completion.
“It was decided to use perforated metal cladding with a schematically cutout map of Moscow in facade decoration. It provides the building with visual lightness, transparency, and emotional expression, efficiently creating and shaping the individual architectural and artistic face of the center. Facade works are to be completed in April”, Sergey Kuznetsov said.
The creative idea of drawing a map of Moscow on the building facade belongs to Ivan Grekov, the head of the Center for Urban Innovations and Technologies, LLC, partner of the Kamen Architecture Art-Group.
“Since the building has an almost blind trapezium shape, it was necessary to add plasticity to it. This problem was solved by using perforated metal cladding as a means of composition emphases. At the current stage there are no projects for the inside of the building. The design projects will be done upon agreement with tenants”, the architects said.
In addition to retail spaces, the building will include administration premises of Vnukovskoye settlement and the terminal bus station with a terminus, drivers’ break room, and station staff room.
It should be reminded that Sergey Sobyanin, the Mayor of the City of Moscow, approved the draft layout of the Rasskazovka transport hub last year. The Center for Urban Innovations and Technologies, LLC is the general designer of the project.
