Sleeping volcano will appear in Nagatino i-Land
A 4 architectural bureau, commissioned by Etalon Group, developed a concept for the improvement of the third stage of Nagatino i-Land residential island in Danilovsky district of Moscow. The new part of the project was thematically named "Sleeping Volcano".
Nagatino i-Land residential island is a large-scale project, which is being implemented on an area of 15 hectares near the Technopark metro station in Danilovsky district of Moscow. On three sides, the project is surrounded by the embankments of the Moskva River and the Novinky Backwater. The implementation of the third stage of the project started in 2022. It consists of four buildings with a height of 19 to 35 floors, which will form the courtyard.
“About a quarter of the entire territory is allocated for landscaping: an integrated landscape park, pedestrian boulevards, squares, a green embankment. For the safety and comfort of residents, Nagatino i-Land implements the “yard without cars” approach. At the same time, each yard has its own concept of landscaping with thematic locations: Hills, Lost City, Jungle, World of Birds and Sleeping Volcano. The concept of the World of Birds courtyard has already been implemented in the first stage of the project,” said Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow.
The theme content of the “Sleeping Volcano” courtyard is built around the image of a peak in a mountainous area, the inhabitants of which love adventure. The images used in the project are understandable to all ages: uneven terrain, caves and houses will be created with the help of geoplastics. All theme areas will be united by a pergola, which, like a wide ribbon, follows the contours of the residential built-up area.
In the center of the playground there will be a two-meter "mountain" for children aged 3-7: they can climb it using special rocky hooks, an uneven steep slope or ropes - and then the climbers will have a quick descent from a winding slide.
Nearby, there will be a spacious playground for older children (7-12 years old) with labyrinths and an obstacle course, and a playground for kids under 3 years old with sandboxes, swings and a recreation area for parents.
For a quiet rest of the adult residents, small gazebos with canopies will be built. They have been individually designed to protect people from the bright sun and bad weather. Also for adults there will be a workout area with tennis tables, designed in the general theme of the courtyard.
The boundaries between the activity zones are marked by winding paths with different paving textures - winding bends also emphasize the image of lava flowing from the volcano.
