Mosavtosteklo Plant in Danilovsky District to be Reconstructed

Group of buildings of the Mosavtosteklo plant in Derbenevskaya Street will be reconstructed. A modern administrative and production complex is going to appear there, said Chief Architect of Moscow, First Deputy Chairman of Moskomarkhitektura, Sergey Kuznetsov.

The territory of the Mosavtosteklo plant will be transformed into a modern administrative and production complex, where about 1,250 people will work.  As Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said earlier, the city will get a significant economic effect, first of all, owing to creation of new jobs” Sergey Kuznetsov remarked.

The territory of the plant is located at the address: 7, bld. 1 Derbenevskaya Street. There are eleven buildings of different year of construction and various functional use on the site. Some of the buildings will be taken down, others will be reconstructed.  For example, the main building and building No. 4 will remain. They were built in 1917 and 1914, but were rebuilt several times during the Soviet era.

The architectural look of the complex is created by a combination of red brick walls, which will be cleaned with sand, and the dynamic lightness of metal and glass volumes. In the main five-story building constructed in 1917 the floor slabs will be renewed, while the vertical extension, which appeared later, will be dismantled. In the basement there will be a parking lot for 79 cars. After the reconstruction, design and climate research laboratories, departments for testing and technical design will be working in the building; there will also be offices, a cafeteria, a photo studio, dry cleaning, and other services. A health unit will open in building No. 4

The territory will provide parking space for 50 cars. The inner courtyard will be improved - trees and shrubs will be planted here, benches will be installed, facades will be illuminated, a cafe with a summer terrace will open on the ground floor of one of the buildings.
