Modern Multifunctional Complex to be Built on the Site of Solovey Cinema

A modern multifunctional complex with public spaces and a cinema will be built on the site of the Solovey cinema. Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov told about the new project on his Instagram.

He mentioned that there was a very active discussion around the demolition of the Solovey cinema. It was planned to construct a new building with a rather controversial architecture in its place, which in itself received a huge amount of criticism.

“Since then, we have done a great job with the investor, the team of architects has changed. The well-known Moscow bureau Tsimailo Lyashenko & Partners, very good specialists, in particular, in the field of housing construction, is currently working on the project. The project has completely changed, this is a work of a completely different level and quality, night and day compared to the previous one. And now, I believe, it will not evoke such criticism, and we will get high-quality architecture in this important place for the city”, explained Sergey Kuznetsov.

According to the presented concept, the new complex consisting of four towers will have a variety of functions, including a cinema and public spaces.

Based on the available feasibility studies and proposals, the architects from Tsimailo Lyashenko & Partners bureau revised the town-planning concept; they revealed a silhouette unique for the city, diversified the perception from different viewpoints. The main problem of the previous version was solved, i.e. massiveness and monotony: a single volume is divided into four elegant elements. The basement, which used to be three stories high, is now lowered to two and has a structure of circles, which makes it possible to create an individual character of architecture and a varied perception of the object itself.

The formation of a comfortable urban environment is also facilitated by the permeability of public spaces - from the public roof level it will be possible to enter the zone of the cinema, cafes, restaurants and sports, and then to the landscaped courtyard.

The certificate of the architectural and urban planning decision will be issued by Moskomarkhitektura in the near future. According to Sergey Kuznetsov, the work on this project is an excellent example of harmonious interaction between the public, government, developer and architects.

It should be mentioned that the previous architectural solution for the site at Druzhinnikovskaya street, 15 was developed by the company Standart-Proekt.
