Kuntsevskaya Station of the Big Circle Line will be decorated with slabs with a terrazzo print. The main idea of the architectural and artistic design is the monumentality, unity and integrity of the volumetric interior of the station and pavilions, as if they were carved out of solid stone. This was told by Chief Architect of Moscow, First Deputy Chairman of Moskomarkhitektura Sergey Kuznetsov.

“Moskomarkhitektura gave the approval of the architectural and artistic concept of Kuntsevskaya station of the Big Circle Line. All surfaces - floors, walls and ceilings - imitate the antique terrazzo mosaic technology in a light gray shade. Glossy white panels are also used on the ceiling, they are similar to the gaps in the rocks. The geometry and right angles of the station are leveled by large cylindrical lamps. They make the interior look vast, but at the same time give it a certain intimacy "- said Sergey Kuznetsov.

Surface-mounted cylindrical luminaires with diffused light finished with matt aluminum panels with terrazzo photographs are used as the main light source on the platform and in the pavilions. A similar print is used on the ceiling. Light gray granite will be laid on the floor.

Kuntsevskaya station has been designed within the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro between the Terekhovo and Davydkovo stations (the South-West section of the line). It will be a transfer to the existing Kuntsevskaya stations of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Filevskaya lines, as well as to Kuntsevo platform of MCD-1 Odintsovo-Lobnya.

The station complex will be located along Rublevskoe highway between Ivana Franko and Moldavskaya streets. Its will be 28.85 m deep. The exit from lobby No. 1 is carried out through an underground pedestrian passage towards Ivana Franko street 12, Rashchupkina street 4. The exit from the ground lobby No. 2 is designed to Rublevskoe highway 4, Kastanaevskaya street. A small landscape park will be created in the adjacent territory.

The project was developed by AI architects bureau, who have worked with metro objects more than once. In 2017, the team won an architectural competition for the development of the Maryina Roshcha metro station BCL (note – former Sheremetyevskaya station).
