Dashi Namdakov’s Work will Appear at Novomoskovskaya Station
The Novomoskovskaya station will be decorated with the sculptural work of the world famous author, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, Dashi Namdakov. Made in the spirit of minimalism, it will symbolize the movement and dynamic development of Moscow, said Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov.
“The name of the station -Novomoskovskaya - and the idea of a vector for the development of a new dynamic Moscow were taken as the basis for the architectural and artistic concept. In addition, the facility itself is located in a complex traffic intersection. The outer structures and the platform itself have plastic shapes. The facade cladding will be made of perforated sheets, with a large amount of glazing, which will provide maximum illumination of the interior, and at night the station will serve as a “beacon” for passengers” - said Sergey Kuznetsov.
Durable materials, such as natural stone, safety glazing, fiber-reinforced concrete, composite / aluminum panels, and so on, will be used for exterior and interior decoration. The station will be heated - more ventilation equipment will be installed inside, thereby increasing the supply of warm air.
“The platform part will be decorated with a column sculpture by the famous Russian artist Dashi Namdakov. It will be performed in the spirit of minimalism, in addition, we observe an interesting technique when the symmetry of the sculpture itself contrasts with the asymmetry of the overall volume of the building. The sculpture will be made of fiber-reinforced concrete panels, cast according to individual molds with subsequent manual processing”- added Sergey Kuznetsov.
The linear illumination of the passenger area will reveal and emphasize the sculptural form, and thanks to the sharpness of natural and artificial lighting, the atmosphere inside the building will constantly change: shadows will play differently on the columns, and built-in lamps will emphasize the outer perforated shell. The entrance group will be decorated with a corbel.
The Novomoskovskaya station will be located along the Solntsevo - Butovo - Varshavskoe highway, at the intersection with Alexandra Monakhova Street. The extension of the red line of the metro to the Novomoskovskaya station will significantly improve transport services for residents of the Novomoskovsky district and the Yuzhnoye Butovo district. In addition, residents of the new quarters of Kommunarka will use the station. It is planned to launch trains on the new section of the Sokolnicheskaya line by the end of 2023.
The total area of the construction together with aboveground and underground pedestrian pavilions, staircases, elevator shafts will be about 15 thousand square meters. The station concept was developed by Mospromproekt JSC together with PARSEC architectural bureau.
