Chaika Swimming Pool to Have New Cultural and Sports Center

Unfinished construction near the famous Chaika swimming pool in Turchaninov Pereulok will gain new life - the building will house a cultural and sports center. This was told by Chief Architect of Moscow, First Deputy Chairman of Moskomarkhitektura Sergey Kuznetsov. 

A five-story unfinished building is located at: Turchaninov Pereulok, 3 str. 1. The design solution was developed by GUP Mosproekt-2 in the 2000s, due to various economic reasons, the construction of the facility was frozen.

“The city under the leadership of Mayor Sergey Sobyanin continues to develop carpentry infrastructure, not only new facilities appear, but old projects are also being completed. The building near the Chaika swimming pool is clearly visible from the embankment, and now it’s just a box, hung with a building grid. It is gratifying that at last it will be completed and turned into a modern cultural and sports center. Inside there will be a full-fledged fitness center with gyms, a juice bar, a specialty store and so on. It is planned to place a restaurant with panoramic views of Moscow on the fifth floor,” said Sergey Kuznetsov.

The fitness area will include an aerobics room, a gym, two tennis courts, a medical center, locker rooms and showers. In the underground part there will be a spa with a bath complex, as well as a parking lot.

The architectural solutions of the facades will be carried out in accordance with the originally conceived concept. The total area of the facility is about 17 thousand sq m.

The neighboring territory will be landscaped, trees and shrubs will be planted here, flower beds will be made.
