The Akademicheskaya station of the Kommunarskaya metro line will be decorated with portals and graffiti with antique images. This was told by Chief Architect of Moscow, First Deputy Chairman of Moskomarkhitektura Sergey Kuznetsov.

Akademicheskaya station of the Kommunarskaya metro line is located on Dmitry Ulyanov Street, at the intersection with Profsoyuznaya Street. There is a transfer to the station of the same name of Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line, in which connection Lobby No. 1 will be renovated.

«The image of the portal is echoed through the entire station. The architects made a whole enfilade on the platform — alternating black elements will be effectively highlighted. The alternation of luminous and dark planes of the portals creates expressive plasticity. The track walls are no less interesting, they will be decorated with antique works of art made using graffiti technique,» noted Sergey Kuznetsov.

Thus, classical art receives a modern reading. And the idea is to be implemented using digital printing on aluminum panels. The floors at the station will be made of light gray granite, the walls of the lobby will be faced with white large-format panels, and slatted structures will be placed on the ceiling.

Station space is a sequential portal system. First, the portals greet passengers in the lobbies, then they see them off when descending on escalators, and finally continue in the form of an enfilade on the platform part. The station’s ground pavilions are designed as a simple rectangular volume, faced with polished granite; a large area is occupied by anti-vandal glazing with a mirror effect.
