Architectural Council approved the project of a skyscraper near Bagration Bridge

The Architectural Council of Moscow approved the project of a 400-meter tower near Bagration Bridge. The new skyscraper is a "symbol of a vertical city" that evolves and develops upwards. “This place in the City master plan was not originally intended for high-rise buildings, but we recently reviewed it and came to the conclusion that it is inefficient to have a two-story exit from Bagration Bridge. After a thorough analysis of the urban development situation, traffic flows, accessibility, and so on, it was decided to organize a high-density function here and sell it to an investor. The task was to make the tower as expressive as possible. Firstly, it is located at a view point near the river, and secondly, it should work as a spectacular completion of the bridge,” said Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow.

A detailed study conducted by the Moscow Committee for Architecture formed the basis of the terms of reference for the designers. A difficult task was to integrate the building into Bagration Bridge and Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment.

“The tower, almost 400 meters high, has a dynamic and complex development, in this regard, the tradition of Moscow skyscrapers can be traced, where a massive multi-stage volume thins towards the top and opens up differently from each point. It is a tower-city, evolving upwards. We pay great attention to the creation of public spaces in the project. A system of atriums with elevators runs through the building like an artery and ends with a restaurant with a terrace. Movement is a very important function in skyscrapers, so we decided to bring it to the fore,” explained Sergei Tchoban, head of SPEECH bureau.

The public function develops from the first floor. From the north there is the entrance to the metro, from the west - elevator groups to the office part, from the east - the descent to the parking lot, and from the south the main view of the tower opens, there is a transition to the other side. The project also provides for shops, cafes, a fitness center, a restaurant, etc. The central artery of the sky lobby and transit elevators runs through the entire building.

In the evening, the spectacular architecture is accentuated by backlighting. The silvery volume contrasts with the existing Moscow City towers. The main entrance is punctuated by a large three-story portal.

“I d like to mention that this project is part of a large-scale task to create a modern architectural layer. We are looking for new ideas, forms, in order, in particular, to get a new generation of Moscow skyscrapers. At the same time, all projects have continuity, they are connected with the context, place, history,” Sergey Kuznetsov added.
