Sergey Kuznetsov to take part in the business program of the MIPIM international exhibition

07 March 2019

At MIPIM, Sergey Kuznetsov, the Chief Architect of Moscow, is going to talk about renovation processes and current trends in urban planning and development.

Other main topics of the Russian delegation business program at the MIPIM-2019 Cannes international exhibition are going to be the design of megalopolises of the future, the development of the sports cluster in Moscow and the interaction of various groups of residents and communities in the modern city.

The Chief Architect of Moscow, Sergey Kuznetsov, is going to take part in five sections of the business program of the 30th MIPIM-2019 international investment exhibition. This year it takes place March 12–14, traditionally including exhibition and discussion events, as well as MIPIM Awards – an awards ceremony on the last day of the exhibition.

This year, the Russian delegation visit is devoted to the large-scale issues of comprehensive urban planning where the Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of Moscow plays a significant part. On March 12, Sergey Kuznetsov will take part in the conference “The City and its Communities: Together, Building the Future, Cooperating in the Present”, which will open the Russian program of business events. The working day will continue with the panel discussion “Changing urban reality: The Gentrification of residential area in Moscow” where the participants will discuss the largest project in Europe aimed at substituting an obsolete housing space for a modern one – a gentrification process happening in the capital of Russia, and what has been done under this project over the past year.

The international discussion “A Modern City: its Role in International Relations Turbulence Context” will be devoted to the principals of forming new urban agglomerations, stimuli to economy, and the latest trends in architecture, urban planning and development. On March 13, the Chief Architect of Moscow will present a speech at the round table “Sports clusters in big cities: new city trend”, and will take part in the discussion “Megalopolis of the future: how to build modern building blocks?”.

The MIPIM international awards ceremony will be held on March 14. Zaryadye Park is on the list of this year’s finalists. Last year it was already nominated, and this time it has once again been selected by the jury of experts and made it to the top after the opening of the Concert Hall in the park.

According to Sergey Kuznetsov, specialized international exhibitions, such as MIPIM, provide opportunities to demonstrate to the colleagues from different countries how the real estate market, urban planning and architectural sphere are developing in Russia, to show the projects, trends, and changes that have taken place over the past year to foreign partners. “And, of course, MIPIM is a very high level award where dozens of projects from around the world are presented. To be on the list of finalists, considering such a strong competition, is in itself an important achievement, but this year we hope to win despite the fact that we have very serious competitors”, said Sergey Kuznetsov.

MIPIM has been held in Cannes for 30 years in a row. It unites more than 20,000 visitors from 100 countries of the world, over 3,000 exhibitors and business program participants. This year MIPIM takes place March 12 – 14.
