La Biennale di Venezia and Google renew their collaboration for Biennale Architettura 2016

On Google Arts and Culture, people will be able to tour Biennale Architettura even after it is closed

La Biennale di Venezia and Google have renewed their collaboration to make the 15th International Architecture Exhibition “Reporting From The Front”, curated by Alejandro Aravena, fully available on Google Arts and Culture, along with a selection of National Participations and Collateral Events.

Following last year’s project, which brought Biennale Arte 2015 online, La Biennale di Venezia and Google Arts and Culture are now launching a new initiative to broaden the ways in which people from around the world can visit Biennale Architettura 2016. Not only is the project meant to help those who wish to start discovering the Exhibition before their trip to Venice; it also makes it available long after the official closing day of November 27th, 2016.

Starting from today, users from all over the world can virtually discover at g.co/biennalearchitettura2016 and also at labiennale.org/en/architecture/online-2016exhibition the entire International Exhibition, 3 Special Projects and the exhibitions of 43 National Participations and 11 Collateral Events. These numbers are bound to increase as other Countries and Events join the project.

The users will be guided through a virtual journey thanks to the over 3700 images recording the installations found in the several collections and digital exhibits, and the many filmed interviews of the participants.

La Biennale di Venezia was founded in 1895 with the International Art Exhibition. It now stands at the forefront of research and promotion of new contemporary art trends and organizes exhibitions and research in all its specific sectors: Art (1895), Music (1930), Cinema (1932), Theatre (1934), Architecture (1980), and Dance (1999). Its activities are documented by the Historical Archives of Contemporary Arts (ASAC), which has been recently renovated.

Google Arts & Culture is a new, immersive way to experience art, history, culture and world wonders from over a thousand organizations worldwide. Google Arts & Culture has been created by the Google Cultural Institute and it is available for free for everyone on the web, on iOS and Android.
