For the first time Mayor awarded Moscow Architecture and Urban Development Prizes
On 4 July 2018 Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin for the first time awarded the Moscow Architecture and Urban Development Prizes.
Moscow Architecture and City Development Prize was established in 2017 and is given for development of the most expressive, original, most high-quality architectural and urban development solutions of capital construction projects, which implementation will response to the aim of formation of comfortable urban environment and facilitate perspective development of construction industry in Moscow.
Earlier the best projects of architects were awarded the prize of Moscow in Literature and Arts in the nomination “Architecture and Design”. Institution of separate award will improve the status and meaning of architects’ work in the capital.
The prize is awarded annually on the eve of the Architect’s Day (celebrating on 1 July) in the amount up to 5 prizes 1 million rubles each. The prize can be awarded to the author or to the team of authors not exceeding 5 persons.
Documents for the prize nomination are submitted by organizations, public associations, creative unions, authors or teams of authors to the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development and they are considered at a meeting of the Moscow Architectural Council.
“The success of architecture is primarily determined by professionalism of the team. And we can see that now it is appreciated at high level. As Mayor Sergey Sobyanin noticed you cannot build and sell project if it doesn’t correspond to the high requirements of quality and aesthetics. Through the Moscow prize winning projects we can judge about development of the capital, about needs of its residents, shift of priorities in the industry. For the nomination of first in the history prize of Moscow in Architecture and Urban Development over 1.500 projects obtaining architectural-urban development decision of Moskomarkhitektura in 2017 have been selected. Average of 3-6 projects claimed for the victory within each nomination.

In the nomination “The best architectural and urban development solution for residential economy class building (standard dwelling)”:
employees of OAO “Moscow Research and Design Institute for Culture, Leisure, Sports and Health Care Buildings” Moscproject-4, Khalid Gilyazov, chef project engineer, Vadim Grekov, managing director, Ilya Kirichenko, assistant of managing director, - for the architectural and urban development solution of the capital construction project “Residential Building” at Moscow, Aminyevskoye shosse (between Aminyevskoye shosse and Nezhinskaya street) – project is under construction
In the nomination “The best architectural and urban development solution for residential building of raised comfort”:

employees of OOO “Architectural bureau “Rozhdestvenka” Larisa Kagramanova, Chief Specialist-Designer, Elena Kirillova, Lead Architect, Kirill Tiurin, Chief Project Architect, Narine Tyutcheva, General Director, Kirill Yakushin, Chief Structural Engineer, - for the architectural and urban development solution of the capital construction project “Care facility for children suffering from cancer and hematological conditions, as well as other serious diseases” at Moscow, in the area of Peredelkino settlement - the project construction is expected to commence.
