12 Moscow Projects Hit the Shortlist of WAF Award
12 Moscow projects were shortlisted for the award of World Architecture Festival (WAF). Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow spoke about it at Moscow Urban Forum.
Both already implemented projects and those still being constructed hit the shortlist. WAF winners will be announced in Amsterdam at the beginning of December 2019.
“The largest ever number of applications concerning Moscow objects have been submitted this year, and this is good news. Our architects are becoming more and more popular on the world stage; they win prestigious international awards more and more often. Besides, the level of international cooperation is increasing – global architectural celebrities are willing to work in Moscow, as a result, this is very beneficial for the city. I think we can already say that a new age is gradually coming into the development of Moscow as a city - a period of openness, cooperation and high quality projects” – Sergey Kuznetsov remarked.
World Architecture Festival Award is one of the major professional awards in the world. It is often referred to as ‘Architectural Oscar’. The festival has been held since 2008; it is an annual event which brings together the best architects, city planners, and investors from more than 60 countries.
