The Medical Centre on Shchepkina street to be completed by new laboratories

22 June 2018

The Clinical Diagnostic Centre on Shchepkina street in Moscow will be renovated – it will have new laboratories and medical utility areas, says the Chief Architect of Moscow, Sergey Kuznetsov.

The centre is located on Shchepkina street, building 35, near the Olimpiysky Sports Complex. The building has seven elevated storeys and two sub-levels, a part of the walls is made as hinged facade using metal cassette-type composite panels. A canopy is set up in the yard, the first floor plinth is faced with natural stone.

After the renovation, the courtyard space under the canopy will house new laboratories and medical utility areas.
“About 1,400 square meters of elevated premises are to appear in the result of this work. 90% of the canopy-terrace will be glazed with glass units made of toughened glass; there will also appear an extra elevator from level 1 to level 2 in this area, and also evacuation stairs in the southern part of the terrace. Besides, the utility floor will be extended with additional utility spaces; a part of the roof will be used. As previously mentioned by Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, taking into account that each year we obtain new pieces of technology and equipment, the infrastructure itself should be upgraded continuously”, said Sergey Kuznetsov.
