Spring in Zaryadye: visitor numbers double
With spring on the way, the number of people going to Zaryadye has doubled during the week and at the weekends we can expect 150 percent more, the park’s Director Pavel Trekhleb said.
“Many more people feel like visiting the park on warm and sunny days. Each weekend during the winter 33,000 people on average went to the park and now we are talking about 80,000,” he added.
Nearly 6,000 people took to the park every winter day. At the moment that number has boomed to12,000 on a daily basis.
Zaryadye opened 9 September 2017 during celebrations marking the capital’s 870th anniversary, and free admission was introduced 11 September. The park has four nature zones specific to Russia: forest, steppe, meadow and Northern landscapes sloping gently down towards the Moskva River.
The park also has a philharmonic hall, River Look flying footbridge, the Nature Centre, a cultural facility and a media centre. Laboratory experiments as well as lectures will take place in the Ice Cave now being built.
