All-Seasons Cafes at the Luzhniki Stadium

19 August 2016

According to the Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, two symmetrical pavilions of all-seasons cafes will be built on the Prestigious Alley in front of the Grand Sports Arena. The projects were approved by Moscow City Architecture Committee.

The pavilions are prolonged on the sides of the Prestigious Alley and represent two-story rectangular spaces surrounded by terraces.

“The main hall is lined with copper and has a delicate colonnade frame, its stone facing and rhythm remind of the style of the remaining facilities of the sports complex, — said Kuznetsov. — The cafes will become a part of the new infrastructure which will appear at the Luzhniki Stadium for the 2018 World Cup, and, as reported earlier by the mayor Sergey Sobyanin, will turn the territory into a first-class city park which will have everything you need for all-seasons sports activities and relaxation”.

The architectural solution of pavilions is identical. They will have two floors with halls for 100 and 50 seats, as well as the seats on the terraces which are also covered with a flat roof protecting from precipitation.

The total area of buildings will be around 600 sq.m. The lining comprises copper panels and panels of agglomerate with marble chips. The project is executed with the maximum preservation of the existing relief and green planting.

As reported earlier by Sergey Kuznetsov, a place for relaxation and sunbathing will be equipped on the river quay fronted by the Prestigious Alley. “The Luzhniki embankment will become a center of various activities after its reconstruction — it will offer a comfortable environment for running, riding a bike without interfering with each other, exercising in the workout sites. The service centers with toilets, changing rooms and sports equipment rental will be located at the start and at the end of the embankment, and in winter a skating rink will be laid down on the embankment and the Prestigious Alley”, — added Kuznetsov.

The project was developed by Tsimailo Lyashenko and Partners Bureau.
