A new PRUE building to be constructed
A new state-of-the-art high-tech architecture building to be constructed for Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (PRUE).
A nine-storey building with a total area of 24 thousand square meters will be constructed in Zamoskvorechye District at the address: Bolshaya Serpukhovskaya Street, estate 13, building 1.
The building facades will be made of glass and metal, typical of high-tech architecture. Several floors will have open terraces decorated with living plants. On a warm sunny day during the breaks between lectures, students will be able to take a rest on the green terraces overlooking the Serpukhovskaya Square. In the evening, architectural lighting will illuminate the facades of the university building. The building design has been approved by the Moscow City Architecture Committee.
The new building is meant for the future specialists in the field of digital and information technologies. “The building of digital and information technologies of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics will be constructed in accordance with the latest world tendencies in construction and architecture. The authors of the project have been inspired by high-tech style. The facades will be transparent, made of durable glass, and the rooms will be protected from the sun by aluminium lamellae resembling pillars. The main entrance will be decorated with a stainless steel signboard with the name of the educational institution”, said Sergey Kuznetsov, the Chief Architect of Moscow.
The ground floor will include the congress center, cafeteria, and lobby. Most of the rooms of the new building – from the second to the sixth floor – will be occupied by classrooms, computer and IT labs. Academic departments and deans’ offices will be on the seventh floor, while the eighth floor will accommodate an area for sports with fitness rooms and a gym. An underground parking lot will be in the basement. In the backyard of the educational building there will be trees, bushes, flowers and a lawn with streetlamps and wooden benches.
